Wolf-tec was founded in 1977 by Ralf’s father, Wolfgang Ludwig, who moved from Germany to America in 1968 with his wife and two sons. In 1980, Ralf returned to Germany to complete an apprenticeship in machine building. He studied in the German cities of Kiel (North of Hamburg) and Esslingen am Neckar (outside of Stuttgart), received his degree in 1984, and worked with some of the most well-known meat industry manufacturers in Germany and Switzerland before he returned home to the family business, where he started in sales. During the early 1990’s, Ralf took an internal position in the company, organizing systems and departments to meet customers’ growing needs for spare parts, services and support. He took a leadership role in the company in 1993, and, in 1994, Ralf’s childhood dream of designing machinery was realized when Wolf-tec launched its own equipment line and entered the manufacturing market with full control over design and manufacturing. Under Ralf’s leadership, Wolf-tec has become, and remains today, a leader in the meat processing industry.
