Darrin D. Badger
President/ Managing Director
Darrin Badger is the President of Focus Commercial Group, a real estate centered brokerage and investment firm founded in 1990. Mr. Badger is one of the founding members of Focus Property Group. Under his guidance, Focus Property Group established itself a national top ten master planned community developer with assets in excess of $2 billion in value.
As a key strategist for the company, he is adept at identifying and qualifying future acquisition and investment opportunities. Mr. Badger has comprehensive knowledge of real estate investment, finance, planning and engineering. He currently owns and develops real estate assets including multifamily, industrial, assisted living and other real estate-based ventures.
Recently, Mr. Badger has focused on identifying, funding, and managing new businesses in emerging industries centered on disruptive technology, paradigm shifts and innovation.
Chad Wolf
CFO
Chad Wolf came to NectarTek after eighteen years with John Bean Technologies Corporation. At JBT, Chad held multiple roles with increasing responsibilities within the finance function. Following five years in public accounting with Deloitte and earning a CPA, he joined JBT as plant controller. Chad gained international experience working as Director, Finance of Asia-Pacific based in Shanghai and most recently Chad was Director Finance and Accounting for North America operations. Chad is proficient with Controllership responsibilities and has collaborated on strategic planning and worked in M&A performing due diligence and business integration. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, BBA in Accounting and The University of Toledo, MBA Finance. Mr. Wolf is our Chief Financial Officer.
Robert Pelton
Executive Operations Director
Bob Pelton is currently the Executive Operations Director at NectarTek. The values of NectarTek are the same as Bob’s – Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Consistency. His passion is being solution oriented, finding the root cause and resolving conflicts and problems in both people and facilities. Choosing service over college, he was offered the opportunity to work in Marine Corps aviation. Their attention to detail and sense of urgency was instilled into him. Bob was fortunate to be involved in testing equipment for early satellite communication systems when cell phones were becoming available to the public. When he began to strive was joining a company called Wolf-tec. Over the next 25 years, he excelled at building a service division that was award winning with every major worldwide food companies. While traveling the globe, he has learned a number of key ingredients to making a successful processing facility. Bob has taken his knowledge of the food industry to his current role at NectarTek to bring food quality production to a newly burgeoning industry. He has thrived with the love and support of his wife of 31 years.
Beatriz Austin
Laboratory Director
Beatriz Austin, the Laboratory Director at NectarTek, originally resided in Brazil where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. In 2005 she moved to the United States and returned to college, graduating at the top of her class with a degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Upon graduation, she started working as a Medical technologist, and soon after advanced in her career becoming a Laboratory Manager. Beatriz’s medical background prepared her for her position at NectarTek. Complying with regulatory agencies and ensuring the smooth running of full hospital laboratories helps her guide efforts to achieve cGMP certification, which we are well on our way to accomplishing. Quality Control and Quality Assurance is another facet of her job at NectarTek. We have the highest quality and purity CBD and CBG isolates on the market, and all final products go through a very detailed inspection before being accepted by her department. NectarTek is a great place to work, every day we put our best foot forward, producing products that help so many people. Beatriz is very proud to be a part of this amazing team of professionals.
Tim Spong
Tim Spong joined NectarTek in October, 2018. Prior to that he was an executive at Chipotle Mexican Grill from 2006 through October, 2018. Tim took over Chipotle’s global supply chain in December, 2015 and led Chipotle’s food safety initiative while implementing a successful cost reduction initiative across Chipotle’s global supply chain. Tim led the effort to produce the first mass-marketed preservative-free tortilla and the introduction of queso to Chipotle’s restaurants. Tim also served as Chipotle’s Executive Director, Operations Services, in which capacity he was responsible for Chipotle’s Training, Facilities, Customer Service, Insurance, Worker’s Compensation, and GL Claims management. Previous to that, Tim was outside general counsel to Chipotle from 1993 to 1998 and maintained a private law practice in Boulder, Colorado. A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, B.A., Economics, and the University of Virginia School of Law, J.D.,
Dr. James Marsden
Dr. James Marsden has over forty years’ experience in the food industry with a strong background working with government officials, regulators, and for food companies, trade associations and in academia. He advised the White House on food safety and nutrition and testified on numerous occasions to the United States Congress, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). He served as an official adviser to USDA during the development of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Food Safety Regulation and on issues relating to Food Imports and Transportation.
After working for several food companies and technology providers, he served as Vice President for Scientific Affairs at the American Meat Institute and President of the AMI Foundation. In 1994, he became the Regent’s Distinguished Professor of Food Safety and Security at Kansas State University. He has extensive experience as an educator, inventor and researcher. He is the author of numerous scientific publications, books, book chapters and articles on food safety and wrote the popular blog “Safety Zone”.
He is responsible for the development of a number of important antimicrobial interventions and holds several food safety related patents. He was elected into the Meat Industry Hall of Fame in 2014.
Dr. Marsden joined Chipotle in 2016 as the company’s Executive Director of Food Safety. He was responsible for directing the food safety programs at Chipotle Mexican Grills, Shop House restaurants and for Pizzeria Locale. He retired in 2019 and joined Nectartek in the position of Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer.
